Join Canadian pianist and composer Matthew Krell on a musical journey celebrating virtuosity and creativity, spanning from the Renaissance to the present. Internationally acclaimed artists on strings and winds will join forces at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church to present timeless and thrilling classical music, alongside arrangements of movie themes, popular songs, and premieres of works by living composers.
The series, titled Sundays of Sound, will take place at 2:30 PM on the last Sundays of January, February, March, and May. On January 26th at 2:30 PM, join exceptional violinist Liana Branscome (below) and pianist Matthew Krell as they bring in the new year with an entertaining and casual celebration of music featuring works ranging from Beethoven’s thrilling Violin Sonata No. 7 in C Minor to the lush Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso, as well as the West Coast premiere of celebrated LA-based composer Nick Gianopoulos’s Introduction, Allegro, and Grand Romance for violin and piano—and more!
