Matthew was awarded State Gold in the California Professional Music Teacher's Association's Contemporary Competition, and Silver in the Honors Competition. Further, Matthew was honored twice in the PianoHouse International Competition with second prize in the Franz Liszt Category and first in the Jazz Category. As a result, Matthew has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall later this year.
